Originally from Romania, Miruna is a writer/director who seeks to capture the softness that lingers within a world marked by sharp edges.
Her artistic sensibility lies in the truthful, the nostalgic, and the surreal, focusing on revealing the gentle moments amidst life's harshness. Through her art, she strives to validate sorrows, ignite action, and comfort the lonely. With a deep connection to her characters, Miruna takes responsibility for telling their stories, recognizing their narratives as reflections of her own and others’.
Miruna holds a BA in Film Studies from the University of Southampton, and is the 2024 recipient of the Milena Jelinek Memorial Award. She is currently based in New York City, where she is completing her MFA in Directing at Columbia University.
